Brooks and Hovis Garage in Patterson About 1930

For a number of years, the ground floor of this building in Patterson was the home of a garage and blacksmith shop, owned and operated by Eli Brooks (left) and his brother-in-law, Henry Hovis (right). There was a hall on the second floor used for community functions of all kinds. The second floor was since been removed and the ground floor now houses the Patterson Post Office and a beauty parlor.

This picture was taken about 1930.
