In 1908, the popular educator Victor Sears came to Greenville and organized the first four-year high school in Wayne County.
The first four-year class to graduate was in 1910 and was composed of Charles M. Randall, Buehler Rhodes, Stella Sparks, Pearl Martin, Grady Taylor, Mennie Farris, Clara Daffron, Roy E. Thornbough, and Grace Ing.
The 1913-1914 faculty members were: top row (l-r), Ida M. Hardesty, Myrtle Taylor, Hattie Huff, Flora Frederick; second row, Bessie Leeper, Victor Sears, Mrs. W. A. Settle; third row, Roy C. Thornburgh (1910 Graducate) and Nina Danial, Lizzie Gill and Leona Davidson.
